Day 3: Brandon Wu & Sungjae Im tied for lead as storm suspends play at Sedgefield

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — The largest cut since the PGA TOUR went to top 65 and ties, followed by two delays for storms in the area, kept the Wyndham Championship from finishing the third round Saturday and set up a long final day of the regular season.
Brandon Wu holed out from 147 yards on the par-4 11th hole for an eagle, giving him a share of the lead with Sungjae Im at 12-under par. They were through 11 holes. John Huh and Joohyung “Tom” Kim were one shot behind.

Mother nature brought the PGA Tour’s regular season finale to a screeching halt Saturday, as play at the Wyndham Championship was postponed multiple times before ultimately being suspended until Sunday morning.
Just 12 of 86 players who made the cut finished their third round Saturday before the storms started to roll in.
The weather did provide fans with golf’s version of a buzzer beater, as Brandon Wu holed out for eagle at the par-4 11th moments before the horn blew.
The eagle followed a birdie at the par-4 10th for Wu and moved him into a share of the lead at 12 under with Sungjae Im. Read more

Weather is wreaking havoc on the final regular season event of the PGA Tour schedule.
Two separate rain delays halted play, caused myriad disruptions during the third round of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The first rain delay lasted an hour and five minutes, the second starting at 4:15 p.m. ET and ending play for the day. The second delay nearly ended at 6:40 p.m. ET, as players were in position to begin play, but a lightning strike extended the delay and ultimately ended the day. Only 12 players finished.
The third round will resume at 7:30 a.m. ET Sunday. Read more
