Day Three: Frenchman Julien Guerrier leads into final at Hillside; Waring, Ramsay & Dantorp one shot back

Julien Guerrier will take a one-shot lead into the final day of the Cazoo Classic at Hillside Golf Club.

The Frenchman bogeyed his first and last holes but had five birdies in between to finish the day at Southport on 12 under as players struggled in the breezy conditions.

A birdie on the last took Jens Dantorp to 11 under along with Scotland's Richie Ramsay and overnight leader Paul Waring, who had a mixed day.  Read more

SOUTHPORT, England -- Julien Guerrier moved in sight of his first win on the DP World Tour after shooting 3-under 69 in the third round of the Cazoo Classic to take a 1-stroke lead on Saturday.

Paul Waring, the No. 586-ranked leader after the first two rounds, shot only 72 and fell out of first place to be replaced by Guerrier, a French player ranked No. 454.

Guerrier made three straight birdies from No. 4 and added more at Nos. 13 and 17. His only bogeys came at the first and last holes at Hillside near Liverpool in northwest England.  Read more

Julien Guerrier shot a three-under-par 69 to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Cazoo Classic at Hillside.

The Frenchman, on 12 under par, would have been in an even better position had he not bogeyed the first and last holes of his third round at the Southport links.

Midway leader Paul Waring was in a three-way tie for second on 11 under with Scotland's Richie Ramsay and Jens Dantorp of Sweden.  Read more

Scotland's Richie Ramsay and England's Paul Waring are just one shot off the pace heading into the final round of the Cazoo Classic in Southport with Frenchman Julien Guerrier out in front.

Ramsay - targeting a first DP World Tour win in seven years - moved seven spots up the leaderboard into a tie for second place after a five-under-par third round of 67 which featured six birdies and a sole bogey.  Read more
