Franchisee Owner Kevin Carruthers

Kevin Carruthers has been involved in the golf industry for over 20 years. Since turning professional in 1986, he was the Assistant Professional at the Rowes Bay Golf Club in Townsville. As the assistant, Kevin worked closely with the Head Professional to run the pro shop including day-to-day operation and stock management as well as working with the club officials to ensure the smooth running of the golf club.

In the year 2000, Kevin started his own golf business and ran it from the pro shop at Rowes Bay Golf Club where he had also become the Resident Golf Professional. Kevin was very successful running his golf retail business from the pro shop at Rowes Bay Golf Club and developed a strong following of loyal customers as well as students from the lessons he gave.

Making the decision to move his business away from the golf course at the beginning of 2009, Kevin opened his own golf shop, Kev’s Golf Gear on Charters Towers Rd in Townsville. Since starting his own business 10 years ago, Kevin has developed both the business and people skills needed to run a successful retail business. Being a golf professional for most of his life, Kevin certainly has the knowledge and industry experience to operate a Drummond Golf franchise and with the business skills he has acquired over the years, he has what it takes to be successful in this venture and begin a new chapter in his life.
