Red

The ideal tee shot is a driver with a slight draw, but with trees right and left and O.O.B. right, the safe shot is a middle fairway wood. The 2nd shot requires another fairway wood or long iron to allow a short iron shot in for the third. Greenside bunkers cut in front left and right, so laying up is a better option to allow for a safe pitch in.

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 286 m

This hole plays long being uphill. The best shot is to aim left centre of fairway and avoid a slice into the trees or the fairway bunker right. For the blind second shot take one club extra. The greenside bunker on the right is in view. The green slopes right to left and requires care with the putt.

The elevated tee helps plan your play here. The landing area is narrow so the safe play is to consider taking a fairway wood off the tee. The bunkers are in range with the driver for any shot pulled left. A long iron or fairway wood 2nd should leave only a wedge in. The putting green is tricky so carefully check the borrows.

This hole is longer than it looks. Check the current tee position and wind and hit a firm shot with your chosen club. Bunkers short and left and another right are a danger and a slope left and back carries away the over-hit shot.

There is trouble to the right so the target line is left of the first fairway bunker. Danger lurks on the right hand side of the fairway and green so the second shot should be directed down the left hand side of the fairway. A ball hit short will run on nicely to a tricky green. Steep slopes around the back of the green.

A testing long par 3 with bunkers left and right of the green and a steep slope to the right of the green. Watch for subtle borrows on this green.

This hole goes back down the hill again. Centre fairway for this tee shot is best and nothing right or the trees may cost you a shot. A full shot to the green will hold but if you are planning to land short allow for the slope kicking the ball on. Steep slopes and trouble abounds at the back of the green.

This is a big tee and correct club selection here is vital as there is no room for error. Bunkers in front and a very steep slope down to Devlin’s Creek will punish the underhit shot. A small green, well guarded, but it holds well.

With trees right and left a straight tee shot is called for, usually with the driver. For the 2nd shot aim for the gum at the top of the hill as the fairway slope there will kick the ball right. All the trouble near the green is on the right.

The target line here is just right of the fairway bunker, ideally with a slight fade. It’s still a long shot into a green sloping left to right. Bunkers short and left and right of the green make this a tough approach shot.

This hole is a double dogleg left then right. The bunkers left are in range off the tee. This hole represents a good opportunity to reach the green in two if you are prepared to take a risk, however, it’s a narrow well protected green with bunkers right and left. The safe shot is to lay up but a tricky pitch in over the bunkers awaits.

A dogleg right. The big hitters can play across the corner, though a shot left will run into the rough with the trees potentially blocking the shot back to the green. A very small green with bunkers left and right makes this a difficult 2nd shot and calls for a sweetly struck short iron.

The green on this par 3 is well guarded by large bunkers front, left and right. Thick trees on the left and a small pond right will catch the badly struck shots. Check the wind and the day’s tee position carefully to ensure the right club choice.

Red

  • Par: 4

A short par 4. There is no need for length here so the smart shot is to tee off with a fairway wood or long iron. There are numerous bunkers and trees left and right to catch the greedy tee shot. Take an extra club for the 2nd.

Red

  • Par: 4

The trees right represent the greatest problem on this short dogleg right. Aim down the centre of the fairway with a long iron or fairway wood, ideally with a slight fade. Don’t be short on your short iron in or you will leave yourself with a very tough chip. The green slopes dramatically from back to front so putting is tough.

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 318 m

The perfect tee shot is down the left centre and the slope will bring your ball back down into the middle of the fairway. A tee shot right will bring the fairway bunker into play and the trees will block your second shot to the green. Aim your second shot at the left centre of the green. There are bunkers left and right but the slope right and behind the green causes the most lost shots.

A great par 3 to finish !. All carry to the green and slightly uphill making correct club selection vital. There are bunkers left and right of the green waiting to catch the errant tee shot. If you play short you will have a hard, blind pitch up to a sloping green leaving a difficult putt
