Port Augusta Golf Club

Port Augusta measures 5757m (Par 70) with four par 3s ranging from 146–165m, twelve par 4s ranging from 312–408m and two par 5s ranging from the 513m straight 2nd (index 2) and the 451m 17th (index 13) which doglegs 45 degrees to the right from 200m off the tee to a green guarded by 2 short side bunkers. The course has fairly wide and quite lush kikuyu fairways with patches of couch grass. The rough has softish red sand/dirt with clover weeds and even some patches of couch grass with short tree-lined fairways with some clusters of saltbush. The medium-to-large sized greens have tifdwarf couch grass greens which are dormant in the winter and can run fast but true. There is also a mix of couch/kikuyu grass surrounding the greens. There are 31 bunkers on the course which guard most holes. Highlights include: the 147m 3rd (although index 18) which has 4 pot bunkers guarding its surface; the 165m 4th (index 14) which has 2 bunkers with the right side bunker having a deep face; the 160m slight downhill tee-shot 10th (index 7) with 5 bunkers guarding the green; the 408m Par 4 straight 16th (index 5) with a bunker short right and the 356m slight dogleg left 18th (index 4) which plays uphill from the dogleg corner with a bunker short right. The par 3’s are well bunkered and the par 5’s are quite challenging. There are only 3 holes which have no bunkers on the entire course (1st, 13th & 14th).
