Rawene Golf Club

The Rawene 9 Hole course was originally was founded & located in Omanaia in the 1930’s, 10 km’s from here. A move to the the Rawene Domain in the late 1960’s and was situated alongside the rugby and bowling clubs. With building these current clubrooms, this course opened in 1982.

Sheep grazed for many years, local members volunteer their time to maintain the course.Only open from Dec to May (Due to Weather closed Jul to Nov) and the sheep are no longer grazing here. After winter an over grown golf course rebuild begins with annual haymaking followed by intense mowing by members to produce a new and interestingly different course every year.
