Dubai Duty Free Irish Open 2021, Mount Juliet, Kilkenny:  1- 4 July

The first Irish Open
was held in 1927. Today it is one of the European Tour Rolex Series events, with a minimum prize fund of $7,000,000. The present sponsor is Dubai Duty Free. It is the only European Tour event played in Ireland at this time.

The Irish Open is also one of the Open Qualifying events. This means that the top three players who have not already qualified and who finish in the top ten will qualify for The Open Championship.

Defending champion in 2021 is American John Catlin, who won by two strokes over Englishman Aaron Rai.

The Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is set over 180 acres. It was recently named as "Ireland’s Best Parkland Golf Course" by the Golfer’s Guide to Ireland. Mount Juliet has twice hosted the World Golf Championships, in 2002 when Tiger Woods won and in 2004, won by Ernie Els.
