From Yahoo!Sports, by Riley Hamel/ USA Today:

Wyndham Clark started his week with a late run at U.S. Open qualifying and ended up earning a spot in next week’s major championship at The Country Club. The vibes are still high for the 28-year-old as he leads the RBC Canadian Open after two rounds.

Clark began his Friday with seven straight pars before putting his first shape on the card, a circle coming at the par-3 8th. After another birdie at the par-5 11th to get to 2 under on the day, Clark played his last seven holes 2 over for an even-par 70.  Read more

From Calgary Herald, by Jon McCarthy:

On a beautiful day in Toronto, and on a golf course that began to show its teeth, the top of the leaderboard stood still as first-round leader Wyndham Clark followed Thursday’s 63 with a level-par 70 and still leads by one at seven-under.  Read more

From The Globe and Mail, by John Chidley-Hall:

Punishing, deep rough and strong winds kept scores high at the RBC Canadian Open and helped Wyndham Clark hold on to his lead at the PGA Tour event for a second day.

The American shot an even-par 70 on Friday afternoon to sit at seven-under-par 133 overall and maintain his one-shot lead. He saved par on No. 18 when his shot from a greenside bunker went nearly 49 feet and stopped within five feet of the hole.  Read more

From PGA TOUR News, by Adam Stanley:

TORONTO, Ont. – Even though Rory McIlroy has a different caddy this week at the RBC Canadian Open, it hasn’t seemed to impact his performance through 36 holes.

McIlroy’s usual caddy, Harry Diamond, is at home as he and his wife are expecting their second child any day.

The defending RBC Canadian Open champion is using long-time friend Niall O’Connor instead. O’Connor caddied for McIlroy once before, at the 2019 DP World Championship in Dubai. The pair met in their late teens.  Read more
